Your Skin. Your Body. Your Next Chapter.
Understanding how we change — and how we can Renew.
Ageing is not something to be fixed. It is something to understand.
As the years pass, our skin, face and body naturally change. Collagen and elastin production gradually declines, skin becomes thinner and drier, and we begin to lose some of the firmness, volume and elasticity we once took for granted. Sun exposure, lifestyle, hormones, stress and genetics can all influence how quickly and visibly those changes appear. AAD+1
At Renew Medical Aesthetics, we believe aesthetic medicine should be about helping you look and feel like the best, most refreshed version of yourself — not about making you look like someone else.
Our approach is personal, considered and consultation-led. We look at your skin, your facial structure, your lifestyle and, importantly, what you want to achieve before recommending a treatment plan. Renew Medical Aesthetics+1
What happens every 25 years?
There is no single moment when ageing suddenly happens. Instead, changes accumulate gradually — sometimes almost imperceptibly — until you notice that your skin, face or body doesn’t quite look or feel as it once did.
Thinking in 25-year chapters gives us a simple way of understanding how those changes can evolve.
0–25 | Building your foundations
Your twenties are often about prevention, skin health and understanding your skin.
Collagen production is still relatively strong, but this is also the time when lifestyle and environmental factors begin to leave their mark. Sun exposure can contribute to pigmentation and premature ageing, while stress, sleep, diet and skincare can influence skin quality.
Your focus: protect, maintain and establish good skin-health habits.
At Renew, this can include professional skin consultations, tailored skincare, superficial peels, LED light therapy, microneedling and bespoke facial treatments where appropriate.
The goal isn’t necessarily to “treat ageing” — it is to create the healthiest possible foundation for the years ahead.
25–50 | The first visible changes
For many people, the late twenties, thirties and forties are when the first persistent signs of ageing become noticeable.
Fine lines can become more established. Skin may appear less luminous or hydrated. Pigmentation accumulated from years of sun exposure can become more visible, while gradual changes in collagen and elastin begin to affect firmness and texture.
Facial movement also plays a role: repeated expressions can eventually create lines that remain visible even when the face is at rest.
As we move towards our forties and early fifties, hormonal changes can become increasingly important. Perimenopause and menopause can bring changes including dryness, thinning skin and loss of elasticity. During menopause, collagen loss can accelerate; the American Academy of Dermatology notes that women can lose around 30% of their skin collagen during the first five years of menopause. AAD
Your focus: protect, restore and stimulate.
Depending on your individual needs, this may be the time to consider treatments such as:
– Anti-wrinkle injections to soften the appearance of expression lines.
– Dermal fillers where carefully considered volume restoration is appropriate.
– Profhilo® and skin boosters to support hydration and improve overall skin quality.
– Polynucleotides and regenerative treatments as part of a skin-rejuvenation strategy.
– Microneedling to stimulate the skin’s natural repair processes and improve texture.
– Chemical peels to address dullness, pigmentation and uneven texture.
– Radiofrequency and fractional radiofrequency to support skin tightening and rejuvenation.
– LED light therapy as part of a wider programme for skin health.
– Medical-grade skincare tailored to your individual skin and goals.
Rather than choosing a treatment because it is fashionable, the aim is to identify what your skin actually needs — and use the least invasive approach capable of achieving your desired result.
50–75 | Restoration, regeneration and refinement
The years around and beyond menopause can bring some of the most noticeable changes to the skin and body.
As collagen and elastin diminish, skin can become looser, thinner and less resilient. Facial volume can change, creating differences around the cheeks, temples, lips, jawline and under-eye area. Fine lines may become deeper and pigmentation or sun damage more apparent.
The body can also change. Hormonal shifts, changes in muscle mass, metabolism and the distribution of body fat can all influence how we look and feel. Menopause can also be associated with dry skin, hair thinning, muscle aches and changes in body composition. nhs.uk+1

It’s not just about your face
Ageing happens throughout the body.
The neck, décolletage and hands can reveal changes in skin quality just as readily as the face. The skin becomes less able to retain moisture, and cumulative sun exposure can contribute to pigmentation, fine lines and loss of elasticity. AAD+1
At Renew, we can therefore look beyond facial lines and consider the whole picture — skin health, facial structure, body confidence, pigmentation, unwanted veins, hair and changes in body contour.
Your treatment plan may involve one treatment or a carefully sequenced combination of treatments.
The Renew philosophy: Enhance, don’t erase.
Modern medical aesthetics has moved far beyond simply “filling lines”.
Today, we can approach ageing from several different directions:
Relax — reducing the appearance of selected expression lines.
Restore — replacing or supporting lost volume where appropriate.
Regenerate — encouraging healthier-looking skin and supporting its natural renewal processes.
Resurface — improving pigmentation, texture and uneven skin tone.
Tighten — using technologies designed to improve firmness and skin quality.
Replenish — supporting hydration and overall skin quality.
Contour — addressing selected concerns affecting the shape and definition of the face or body.
The most natural-looking results often come from understanding that no single treatment can address every aspect of ageing. Different concerns may require different approaches, and treatment should always be tailored to the individual. Dermatologists similarly recognise that combining approaches can address different signs of ageing while maintaining a natural appearance. AAD
